Kvarken Council’s Strategy 2030

Interaction between residents

Actions

Our ongoing actions in the Interaction between residents focus area are as follows:

Working Committee for Culture and Education

The Kvarken Council’s board can appoint necessary committees within the framework of the Kvarken Council’s activities. The working committees carry out concrete activities and initiatives that contribute to regional development. Their work ensures that collaboration continues even when there are no active projects bringing the stakeholders together. Establishing working committees is a concrete example of how we implement our organisation form, the EGTC.

Interpretation equipment

The Kvarken Council rents out professional conference and simultaneous interpretation equipment for meetings and conferences. The service contributes to strengthening contacts and removing obstacles to cooperation caused by language barriers.

Status: Ongoing.

Cultural Platform Kvarken

The goal for the Cultural Platform Kvarken feasibility study is to investigate whether it is possible to establish a cooperation structure that facilitates continuous cultural cooperation in the Kvarken region and brings together stakeholders, consumers, companies, and policymakers across borders, for example in the form of an event platform.

Status: Completed.

Kvarken Film Network

The goal of the Kvarken Film Network feasibility study is to analyze the potential for a cross-border network of key stakeholders within the film and tv industries in the Kvarken region. Such a network could act as a foundation for developing the Kvarken region’s film industry.

Status: Completed.

Culture 3.0 – Initiative

Culture as a driving force in regional development.

The Kvarken Council contributes to promoting the Culture 3.0 initiative in the region, which aims at integrating culture as an important part of the regional development work. Initially, a cooperation project has been discussed within this area.

Status: Ongoing.

Cooperation with the Nordic Association

In many ways, the Kvarken Council’s work for cross-border cooperation goes hand in hand with the Nordic Association’s Northern Perspective theme for 2023, which is “Border Regions of the Future”. The Kvarken Council and the Nordic Association in Västerbotten work together to increase cross-border cooperation between people.

Status: Ongoing.
