All the four exhibitors act in the Kvarken region but how come they appear together in the same stand?
– We have a lot of prior experience in cooperation with one another. All the four actors are involved in various development projects, e.g. E12 Atlantica Transport, with the purpose of further strengthening cross-border cooperation. The project works with establishing cooperation structures in order to safeguard logistics investments along the route from Vaasa in Finland through Sweden up to Mo i Rana on the Norwegian coast, explains Mr Pekka Mäkinen, logistics expert at Vasek and project leader of E12 Atlantica Transport in Finland.

– Our standing here together witnesses our unique cooperation and may inspire others to establish similar cross-border collaboration but, first and foremost, we can tell new potential cooperation partners what the joint port and shipping companies of Vaasa/Finland and Umeå/Sweden can offer them, what the clients stand to gain by our cooperation and what kind of chances it opens up, explains Mr Matti Esko, Managing Director of Kvarken Ports.
Mr Tony Ehrs, Cargo Manager at Wasaline, agrees and adds:
– Wasaline is here to market the Kvarken region and our product but we also plan to take this opportunity to learn more about European operators and concepts. We wish to find new clients and cooperation partners in order to further develop our concept.
Mr Teijo Seppelin, Managing Director of Vaasa Logistics Unit, attends the fair for the third time and has found something new every time. – It is fascinating to see, for example, the development of energy solutions in the European logistics areas and to learn about new best practices.
